Faith Like a Child
April 17 and 18 at 6:00pm
CMT started in 2003 with the début of A Christmas Carol. We have kept the Christmas theme with A Star is Born, I Wish You Christmas, The Hope in Christmas, Bethlehem Gulch, and The Tree Topper. The production consists of kids of school age that sing, dance, and share God’s glory with the audience. The purpose of the show is to give the kids an opportunity to learn about God, worship Him in a fun memorable way, and share God’s love with their friends and family. During rehearsal the children learn about drama and music. They get a taste of how drama works, how to use their voices to evoke emotion, pronunciation, diction, staging, and blocking. They also get to learn about notes, chords, timing, voice inflection, breathing, and tone. They learn how Scripture relates to what the play is about and how can they apply that to their daily lives.
The kids and directors learn a lot about working together, staying focused, and letting God take control. The next show is going to be a bit different. We are steering away from the Christmas theme and venturing into some other aspects of the Scriptures. We are going to dive into what God’s Word tells us about who we are and how we can be more like Him.
